Terms of Service

Agreement to Terms (The Fine Print)

By using Chef AI, you're agreeing to these terms. We know nobody reads these, but here we are. If you don't like these terms, that's cool - you just can't use the app. It's like a restaurant: if you don't like the menu, you can leave. No hard feelings.

Use License (What You Can and Can't Do)

You can use Chef AI for personal cooking adventures. But here's what you CAN'T do (because we have to say this):

  • Copy or modify our code (we worked hard on this, respect the hustle)
  • Use it commercially without permission (want to use it for your restaurant? Let's talk)
  • Try to reverse engineer our AI (seriously, don't - it's complicated and you'll hurt yourself)
  • Remove our copyright notices (they're there for a reason, probably)

User Accounts (Keep It Real)

When you sign up, use real information. Don't pretend you're a celebrity chef if you're not (we'll know). You're responsible for your account - if someone hacks it because your password is "password123," that's on you. Use a strong password. Your pet's name isn't a strong password.

User Content (What You Share)

The recipes you create, photos you upload, and content you share? That's yours! But by using the app, you're giving us permission to use it to make Chef AI better. We're not going to sell your recipe for "Mystery Fridge Surprise" to a cookbook publisher, but we might use it to improve our AI. Fair trade, right?

Prohibited Uses (Don't Be That Person)

Please don't:

  • Break any laws (we're not your lawyer, but come on)
  • Upload viruses or malware (we have enough problems already)
  • Pretend to be someone else (we see you, "Gordon Ramsay")
  • Use bots to spam our system (we have feelings too)
  • Try to crash our servers (they're doing their best)

Subscription and Payments (The Money Part)

Some of the good stuff lives inside ChefAI Pro, our auto-renewing subscription. Nobody likes surprise charges, so here's exactly how the money part works (Apple and Google make us spell this out, but honestly you deserve to know anyway):

  • Plans & pricing: ChefAI Pro comes in weekly, monthly, and yearly flavors - pick your commitment level. The actual price and billing period show up on the purchase screen before you commit to anything, and they can vary by region and change over time (blame economics, not us).
  • Payment: When you tap that confirm button, your Apple App Store or Google Play account gets charged. That's the moment of truth.
  • Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew themselves (like your gym membership, except you'll actually use this one) for the same period at the going rate. To stop the cycle, flip off auto-renew at least 24 hours before your current period ends - otherwise you'll get charged for the next round within 24 hours of it rolling over.
  • Managing & cancelling: Cancel or manage anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling switches off future renewals, but you keep Pro until the current period runs out (no take-backsies on time you already paid for). We don't make it hard to cancel - we're not monsters.
  • Free trials: If we ever hook you up with a free trial and you start a paid subscription for the same thing, you wave goodbye to whatever trial time was left. Can't have your cake and eat it too.
  • Refunds: Apple and Google handle the actual cash, so refunds go through them, not us - we literally can't reach into their register.

Behind the scenes, payments and subscription status run through the Apple App Store, Google Play, and our subscription buddy, RevenueCat.

Disclaimer (We're Not Doctors)

Our recipes are suggestions, not medical advice. If you're allergic to peanuts and we suggest a peanut butter recipe, that's on you for not telling us. Always check ingredients, use common sense, and if you have serious dietary concerns, talk to a doctor, not an AI. We're good at recipes, not medicine.

Limitation of Liability (The "We're Not Responsible" Part)

If something goes wrong (like you burn your kitchen down following our recipe - which we hope doesn't happen), we're not legally responsible. We're a recipe app, not your insurance company. Use common sense, follow safety guidelines, and don't sue us if your soufflé doesn't rise.

Termination (Breaking Up Is Hard to Do)

We can ban you if you break the rules. We'd rather not, but if you're being a jerk or breaking the terms, we'll do it. No hard feelings - we just want to keep the app a nice place for everyone.

Changes to Terms (We Might Update These)

We might change these terms sometimes. If it's a big change, we'll give you 30 days notice. If it's small, we'll just update the date. Check back occasionally, or don't - your call.
